New McDonald’s in Vriezenveen: From Groundbreaking to Handover
A wonderful project in the heart of Vriezenveen has been completed! From preparing the site for construction to the official handover of the new McDonald’s restaurant, our team has successfully completed an impressive journey.
About the Project
At the end of June, we began preparing the site, followed by the foundation work in early July. Last Friday, we officially handed over the new restaurant. This location is a first of its kind: the very first Sunny Side Up McDonald’s in the Netherlands!
Key Features of the New Restaurant:
- Two-storey drive-through restaurant for fast and comfortable service
- 36 PV solar panels & energy-efficient LED lighting for sustainable operation
- LBK ROX units and transformer located on-site
- Wadi for rainwater storage to support water management
- Built in compliance with BENG, the latest energy standards
- Indoor and outdoor Playland, including a Magic Touch Table for children
Our Role
Bart was present on site every week, coordinating progress with nearly 50 parties, ensuring planning, costs, and results were on track, and keeping everything running smoothly. Alongside him, our new colleague Demian actively supported the final phase in recent weeks to guarantee a flawless handover.
Collaboration and Partners
A successful handover is never a solo effort. We would like to thank our partners: Akor, Wijco, Hamer, Klink Nijland, Visotec, Van Delft, Acrelec, Haco, 4UPM, Desarc, De Bont, Sweegers & de Bruin, Infrawork, JMK, Kelfkens, and many others. Thanks to their dedication, this beautiful new McDonald’s restaurant now stands in Vriezenveen.
Congratulations to McDonald’s Netherlands on this new location and to McDonald’s Twente on their 12th restaurant. We are proud of this achievement and look forward to more successful projects in the region!
